Ben was surprised at Mal for saying that. She was there with him when he first transformed so this didn't make sense. It still confused him that he even had this special ability since his father only turned into a beast because of a witch cursing him. This was something entirely new for everyone and he needed to still figure things out. His parents helped him as best as they could as well which he was thankful for. Now for the task at hand, he needed to figure out what was different about Mal.

The snappish tone in her voice almost made him jump in surprise. "I wouldn't lie to you. You were there with me when this happened... but okay." He concentrated hard enough again to change back into human. Still hurt every single time it happened but he was getting used to it now. Looking down he sighed in relief that his clothes remained intact instead of tearing off of him. That was a really good thing.

He faced her now as the boy she knew. "Do you still want to destroy me?" He asked as he looked her over again. "You still look different."
